Ingredients

  • Mangosteen extract

    What is it?

Mangosteen extract is our hero ingredient. Mangosteen is a tropical fruit that we source locally in Queensland, Australia.

    Why we love it

Mangosteen is effective as a skincare ingredient because it possesses an abundance of xanthones – plant compounds with healing properties that are unique to the fruit, the most prevalent being alpha-mangosteen. Xanthones have been proven to be antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and to have antioxidant properties – a combination rarely found in just one ingredient in nature. Mangosteen extract which contains these xanthones helps reduce redness, protects the skin’s natural microbiome, and has been shown to treat underlying causes of conditions like acne and eczema. We have worked with leading plant extraction scientists to make sure our formula has the highest potency possible so that your skin is getting the best possible outcome from our hero ingredient.

  • Vitamin C

    What is it?

The vitamin C used in our products is a version known as Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate – which is oil and fat soluble making it more stable and longer lasting than other sources of vitamin C.

    Why we love it

Vitamin C is naturally present in the skin, where it boosts collagen production and antioxidant levels, keeping skin looking plump and clear. It has been scientifically proven to have the same effects when added to skincare products. Hydrating and anti-ageing, Vitamin C is an essential ingredient for glowing skin.

  • Ferulic acid

    What is it?

Ferulic acid is an organic compound that is both an antioxidant itself and boosts the effects of other antioxidants.

    Why we love it

In our products, ferulic acid works in tandem with alpha-mangosteen, other xanthones, and vitamin C, helping to enhance its powers: hydration, collagen production, and preventing UV damage. As an antioxidant, it also neutralises damage from nasty pollutants, ultraviolet light, and infrared radiation which collectively contribute to premature ageing.

  • Hyaluronic acid

    What is it?

Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring molecule found in the human body that acts as a cushioning and lubricating ingredient for our joints, nerves, hair, skin, and eyes.

    Why we love it

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the skin, where it binds to water in cells. It is said to have the same moisturising effects when added to skincare products, giving skin a plumper and firmer appearance. It is safe for sensitive skin types. We have sourced our hyaluronic acid from microbial fermentation (unlike many other products on the market which are from cow hide) which means our products are completely vegan-friendly.

  • Aqua (purified water)

    What is it?

You’ll probably be familiar with this ingredient, pure H2O!

    Why we love it

As we humans are about 60% water, it’d be rude not to include it in our products!

We use pure, pharmaceutical-grade water, free from contaminants to help hydrate, firm, and plump up the skin.

  • Caprylic/capric triglycerides

    What is it?

Caprylic/capric triglycerides is an ingredient derived from natural fatty acids from coconut oil that we have combined with glycerin (a colourless, odourless liquid) to create a stable product ideal for skin care.

    Why we love it

Caprylic/capric triglycerides help create a barrier on the skin's surface to lock in moisture. They also bind the other ingredients together, assisting active ingredients to last longer. Caprylic triglycerides are valued as safe and natural alternatives to other synthetic chemicals found in topical skin products.

  • Propanediol

    What is it?

Propanediol is a colourless liquid that is derived from corn plants.

    Why we love it

Propanediol is a natural, skin-friendly, water-absorbing compound and moisturising emollient that soothes and hydrates skin. It also helps in incorporating other ingredients into cosmetic formulations. With ageing, skin loses its natural moisturising factor present in the upper layers of the skin. Propanediol helps in keeping skin hydrated which in turn reduces the signs of ageing.

  • Dimethicone

    What is it?

Dimethicone is a silicone used as a smoothing agent in skin, makeup, and hair products.

    Why we love it

Dimethicone creates a silky-soft feeling (that isn't heavy or greasy) and smooths skin texture by temporarily filling in fine lines, wrinkles, and pores. It seals in moisture by creating a sheer, water-resistant 'film' over your skin to prevent water loss and creates a lightweight barrier against environmental irritants. It also reduces oily skin by mattifying shine and blurring the look of big pores.

  • Caprylyl glycol

    What is it?

Caprylyl glycol, derived from caprylic acid, is an eight-carbon saturated fatty acid found in palm and coconut oils. It is a colourless liquid with a slightly sweet scent.

    Why we love it

Caprylyl glycol is a water-absorbing compound, meaning it pulls water into the skin and helps to keep it there. As well as hydration, caprylyl glycol has the added benefit of boosting preservatives, meaning products with this ingredient last longer.

  • Xanthan gum

    What is it?

Xanthan gum is a thickener and emulsion stabiliser that keep the oils and water-soluble components in our product in balance.

    Why we love it

Xanthan gum helps with the texture of skincare products and is known to be safe to use in skin care products.

  • Acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer

    What is it?

Acrylates crosspolymer is a synthetic ingredient used to improve the texture and feel of skincare and cosmetic formulations.

    Why we love it

Acrylates crosspolymer is commonly used in skincare formulations as an alternative to irritating emulsifiers, to ensure a stable and safe product for all skin types. It also improves the texture, thickness and feel of skincare and cosmetic formulations.

  • Phenoxyethanol

    What is it?

Phenoxyethanol is a preservative. It increases the shelf life of a product, and inhibits the growth of bacteria, mould, and fungus in products, helping keep cosmetics stable.

    Why we love it

We use the freshest of ingredients and we want to ensure they stay active and functional. The responsible use of preservatives is one way to help achieve this and we have chosen to include phenoxyethanol as it is commonly used in skincare products and is known to be safe and effective.
